GO! 2011: General Session 2
After a lunch intermission, during which Distributors got to see the new brand and product signage that had magically appeared in the lobby during the first General Session, ten thousand strong lined up at the doors, ready to bring the same fire to General Session 2. The sea of people waiting at the doors made for an impressive visual. The XANGO Nation, in force!
The Big Six, your XANGO Founders, took the stage once again to kick the session off. They started off by recognizing XANGO’s top leaders—Premiers, 100Ks, 200Ks and 500Ks all got a shout out under the bright lights of the stage.
Up next was the inauguration of XANGO’s new awards, honoring Distributors who’ve distinguish themselves in different aspects of our company culture. Simone Nobile won the Chairman’s Award for adopting the absolute best business practices, and 83-years-young 20K Millie Erlacher won the Founders’ Award for immersing herself so completely in XANGO culture.
The most touching moment of the session (of the whole week? of the year?) came when Lloyd Loberger and his foster mother Darlene Gauger received the first ever XANGO Goodness Foundation Humanitarian Award. These two exemplary Distributors have never let Lloyd’s cerebral palsy slow them down. They’ve thrived in the face of all of life’s challenges, building their XANGO businesses and spreading wellness to everyone they meet. Lloyd will run with Founders Kent and Joe Morton in tomorrow’s 5K to benefit Operation Smile. The beauty of the moment touched everyone in the room, not the least of which were the six men giving the award.
A couple of awesome videos followed—one with Aaron, Gordon and Joe giving a teasing glimpse of next year’s CC4, the other a series of inspiring testimonials from Premier Select Neesie Cieslak, 100K Select Mary Spoelstra and 100K Select Janelle Crane.
Kent held the stage for the next half hour with a hard-hitting speech about each Distributor’s power and responsibility to “be the one” who changes his or her life. He gave historical examples of people who rose above their circumstances and left a legacy, including Christopher Columbus, Alexander Fleming (the discoverer of penicillin) and Nelson Mandela. The latter set up Kent’s announcement of the opening of XANGO South Africa later this year, as well as market openings in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Mongolia, Slovenia and Brunei—that’s more than 40 countries by early next year. The XANGO map is growing!
Ever graceful and charming, 100K Select Danny Wanzeele followed by extolling the virtues of emotional muscle in networking. He talked about the importance of trying and trying again, regardless of any rejection, with the end goal of achieving personal success through building the brand. XANGO is one team with one dream!
Keynote speaker Kevin Hall gave the audience a unique look into “the power of words.” A lexicon carefully culled from languages and cultures around the world formed the basis of his inspiring speech, teaching Distributors how to find business success and personal, spiritual growth simultaneously.
A poignant meeting closed with yet another big announcement: Coming up on a decade in business, XANGO is giving top leaders a chance to Re-Discover the Discovery Club in Thailand next year. The trip of a lifetime, for the second time.
A huge finish to a blockbuster day, General Sessions 2 filled Distributors’ cups. As always, there’s more to come. Get some sleep XANGO, and we’ll see you tomorrow…
